Sonic Boom Christmas Ornaments

I just wanted to share this picture for the holidays. ^_^ These are hand-painted Sonic Boom-themed Christmas tree ornaments that I made... sometime back in spring, I think. I painted the likeness of Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy and Sticks (from left to right) with poster paints on craft sticks (get it? Craft sticks and Sticks the Badger? )

Strands of twine in a festive green color are glued on the back of each (except for Knuckles; the craft stick I used for him had a hole in it, which the twine was pulled through. XD It ended up being glued down on the back anyway, in case it pulled out) so you can hang them on the tree. I would have added Shadow, but there's not enough workspace on craft sticks to add in any of the details for his Boom design. And even if I did, they probably wouldn't be visible.

Speaking of, even though you can't see it, I added some details on the backs of the ornaments (such as the tied part of Sonic's scarf or Tails' tails), and the paint job goes all the way around on both sides and the back.

If you want to make something like these yourself, you'll need some supplies to do so:


However many craft sticks or popsicle sticks you need for each character (i.e. I did five characters, so I needed five craft sticks).

Paint of any kind (I recommend poster paints; washable is even better, especially for young children).

Twine, thread or plastic string of any color (I recommend a festive red or green -- white or clear also works) to hang them.

Scissors to trim twine/thread/string

Glue or glue stick to keep twine, thread, etc. in place on the back (unless there are holes in the sticks - then you can just pull the string through and tie it. XD You can also use glitter glue or add regular glitter for extra sparkle!).

--Children, please remember to have an adult help you make these, especially with the scissors. I highly advise being extremely careful with them!--


This was a really fun craft project for me to work on, though it took me about two or three days to finish making them all. Have a wonderful holiday everyone, and remember to stay safe and warm!
